Our Pre-K to Grade 2 students had a very special visit from local nurse, Shelby Ross! She shared what it’s like to be a nurse and helped our students understand the important role healthcare workers play in keeping our community safe and healthy.

After her talk, students took part in a fun and interactive activity all about germs and hand washing. Using a special lotion and a black light, they were able to see the “germs” (lotion) on their hands! Then, they practiced proper hand washing techniques and checked again under the light to see how well they did removing the “germs” (lotion).

It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience that left everyone a little more aware (and excited) about staying clean and healthy. Thank you, Shelby, for inspiring our students and making learning so much fun!
